Celebrating Amherst: A Community Reception and Window Exhibit Honoring Connection

Updated: 1 day ago

The Mill District Local Art Gallery is proud to announce a new collaborative installation in our Front Window Gallery: Amherst Community and Connection. This special exhibit honors the local organizations and individuals who devote themselves to weaving stronger bonds in our town—connecting people to services, resources, each other, and the land we share.

We invite you to join us for a celebratory reception on Friday, March 28, from 5–7pm. This is a chance to meet and recognize our community connectors in person while enjoying complimentary light refreshments and tastings from Provisions. Please RSVP to help us plan for your visit.

About the Exhibit

Each participating group has transformed a 3’ x 3’ panel into a vibrant visual expression of their mission and impact. These pieces, on display in our Front Window Gallery, tell stories of care, creativity, and connection. We are thrilled to highlight the contributions of:

  • The Amherst Senior Center

  • The Jones Library & Branches

  • Family Outreach of Amherst

  • A Better Chance in Amherst, MA

  • Amherst Recreation

  • Kestrel Land Trust

  • Amherst Early Education Center

  • Amherst Police Department

  • Department of Children and Families

  • Amherst Media

These organizations are just a few of the many that help make Amherst a thriving, compassionate, and connected place to live. We’re deeply grateful to them—and to all who show up for our community every day.

Come celebrate with us. Come be inspired.
